alyssa sontag psychotherapy
Hi I’m Alyssa.
Welcome.
I believe therapy should feel like a conversation—one that creates space for healing, growth, and challenges you with compassion along the way.
My style is warm, honest, and collaborative, and I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself from day one.
I work with teens and adults navigating anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, substance use, and other areas of speciality. Every person is very different, so I tailor therapy to you rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
My hope is that our work together helps you better understand yourself, feel more empowered, resilient, and make meaningful and grounded changes— that last.
My specialites
Trauma & Emotional Healing
Past experiences don't have to define your future. I help clients process difficult experiences, build resilience, and move forward with greater confidence and self-understanding.
Anxiety & Panic
Learn practical tools to manage anxiety, quiet racing thoughts, and build confidence so you can feel more grounded and in control.
Stress, Burnout & High Achievers
Many of my clients are driven, capable people who feel overwhelmed by perfectionism, chronic stress, or burnout. Therapy provides space to slow down, regain balance, and reconnect with what matters most.
Relationships & Attachment
Together we'll explore relationship patterns, communication, boundaries, and attachment styles to help you build healthier, more fulfilling connections.
Substance Use & Recovery
Drawing from over a decade of personal and professional experience in recovery, I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space for individuals navigating addiction, sobriety, relapse prevention, and lasting emotional growth.
Children, Teens & Young Adults
I help children, adolescents, and young adults navigate anxiety, emotional regulation, self-esteem, friendships, family conflict, identity development, and life's transitions.
A Space to Slow Down
My office is located in the heart of beautiful Mill Valley, offering a calm private space to step away from the demands of everyday life. I believe there's something uniquely powerful about meeting in person, however I also offer secure telehealth sessions for clients who prefer to meet remotely.
